Cairns Youth Camp 1
The Youth at the Far Northern Camp

Far North Youth Camp

Bro. Scott Jones writes:

The camp in the Far Northern Youth Region was a success. The camp ran from Friday the 30th of June to Monday the 3rd of July. It was held at Camp Tinaroo, which is about a kilometre short of the Tinaroo township.

We ran services on the Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night, Sunday morning and Sunday night. The youth seemed a little nervous at first to reach out to God but as the services progressed their hunger and desire for something greater began to grow. This led to 6 young people receiving the Holy Ghost during the camp!

The main preachers during the camp were Rev. Imarisio and myself (Scott Jones). We also had the help of Sister Kym Swile and Brother Gavin Swile. The messages ranged from unity and Brotherly love, to turning aside for a Godly encounter. All of the speakers did an outstanding job and allowed God to move through them.

The Youth thoroughly enjoyed the Camp

The song leaders were: Brother Gavin Swile (Faith Pentecostal Church- Townsville), Sister Kym Swile (Faith Pentecostal Church- Townsville), Brother Aaron Anau (Indigenous Pentecostal Church- Cairns) and Sister Tonnia Jones (The United Pentecostal Church of Cairns). They all led the services well and prepared the way for the preaching of God’s word.

Overall the camp seemed to be thoroughly enjoyed by all the youth. I didn’t hear one complaint about the food, or the venue. The younger youth were also very well behaved and the older youth were quick to help while also keeping a good attitude.

In conclusion, this camp was a great time of refreshing and fellowship for our youth. And all of the Pastors and youth leaders can be proud of their churches contribution to the 2006 Far Northern Youth Camp.

P.S. Thankyou for everyone’s hard work that made the camp a success.

Sincerely,
Scott Jones
(Far Northern Youth Representative)
