February Update from Cairns

We continue to hear good reports from the Cairns church. We are very appreciative of the Jeremie Jackson family, from Tuscon, Arizona who have come to Cairns for the year. They have done this at great personal cost and sacrifice and it is a great blessing to the Cairns church to have them on site. They have ministered and done a series of good Bible studies over a number of months. This has seen many interested folk come along and attend. The Jacksons spent a number of weeks in New Zealand over the Christmas period.

In October Scott Jones from the Cairns church, went once again to Papua New Guinea for the National Sunday School conference. The Cairns church is proud to involved in missions and this is one opportunity for the church to actively play their part. About 55 children received the Holy Spirit and 20 were baptised.

A fine family, Stan and Wendy Banu from the Cairns church went north for a work-related move, to an island between Australia and Papua New Guinea. During this time Br Stan has been able to have Bible Studies, distribute tracts and recently he saw three people from this island baptised in Jesus name! We are so excited because this island is within sight of Papua New Guinea, and is the first time we have been able to have contact with this area!

7 Sept 2008 - Andrea's surgery is a success. Richard & Andrea will be returning to PNG shortly

26 August 2008 - Andrea is going for Thyroid Surgery to have her thyroid removed on the 28th August in the morning.

Ongoing Request - Pray for Peter & Robyn Gration during their Deputation Travels

Sep 2008 - Richard & Andrea returning to PNG in the latter half of the month

Aug 28th 2008 - Andrea undergoes surgery to remove her Thyroid Gland. Operation is a success

Jul-Aug 2008 - Richard & Andrea are in Australia for medical attention for Andrea. They should return to PNG in early September.
