Richard JnrThings have been very busy this time of year. The major excitement was the return of the Gration family after finishing their travels in the USA for fundraising. We and the church here had long anticipated this event, and it was so exciting to actually see them touch down at the airport. There was a long line of church members lined up at the airport to greet them; all of them happy, and many of them crying for joy.

This also meant that there were many things to organise and get ready for their arrival, shipping to collect, and furniture to move etc; and this has kept us very busy for November December. Bro & Sis Gration are very happy that we can continue on in PNG, and we are so grateful to them for helping this become a reality. We are looking forward to many wonderful times together.

Concurrent to this, we have started the beginning phases of the groundwork to our Bible School Construction project, which is set to become the major project of 2010. It is very exciting to see this starting to become a reality. It seems that next year is going to become another “non-standard” year – that is, all kinds of things happening (at the same time)! Oh well, no one can say that life in PNG is boring!

But of course the biggest news in our lives right now (and probably the one that our friends want to hear about the most) is the birth of our third child, Hannah. What can I say, except she is great! She certainly has brought a lot of joy to our family.

I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who thinks of us, prays for us, and support us financially for your concern over the year just past. Truly we are grateful, and your help allows us to stay here to continue on the work.

We wish you all a blessed Christmas, and a wonderful time with family and friends during this holiday time. And for all those of you who, like us, are away from family for the Lord’s sake, may the Lord be close to you in a special way. At least this year we have our good friends the Grations here to make up for the last two years on our own!

Andrea CarverWell, it’s hard to believe that over 5 months have passed since our precious baby Hannah arrived into this world. It has been a whirl-wind since her arrival but the most amazing experience. Hence the delay in writing this newsletter before now!

As you may remember, we returned to Australia for Hannah’s birth; the time seemed to go quickly, especially since I was confined to the hospital for over a week before Hannah was born, because the doctors were concerned about Hannah’s position in the womb. We have been equally busy since our return to PNG with the Gration’s return from the USA, as well as getting the children settled once again into school.

Timothy has started his first year of Kindergarten and is enjoying it immensely. He attends the same school as Laura who now is in Grade 3. It is a Christian School based at a Mission Station about 15 minutes out of town; the school’s name is Numonohi Christian Academy. We are extremely happy with their progress and of course the wonderful friends they have made. Laura is very content which lightens our worries! We are blessed to have these facilities available. We have only two concerns and that is firstly; we share the driving with other families from town that send their children to Numonohi, the road can be very dangerous at times can have considerable amount of children and adults wandering on the road, as well as livestock. This makes driving very precarious. We would like to ask for your prayers for their safety. We know that they are in the hands of the Lord but we would like to ask for wisdom and guidance for the drivers. Secondly; the tuition fees are considerable for those on a limited budget like ours.

Hannah is growing so fast, it’s hard to believe that she is already 5 months. She has been a joy to have around, and she is quite spoilt by her siblings, especially Laura (and her mommy). Laura loves to come home from school to give Hannah lots of hugs and kisses. Hannah is a very social baby who loves to smile and laugh. She is developing good sleeping habits, sleeping about 10-12 hours at night with no interruptions. Richard in particular loves coming home after a busy, exhausting day to be greeted by Hannah giving non-stop huge smiles as soon as he walks in the door. He says that all his troubles just evaporate when Hannah gives him a smile!

A lot of people have asked if Hannah is red-haired like Laura and Timothy; at the moment, she doesn’t have enough hair to be able to tell! However, the little bit she does have at the back looks like an Auburn colour, not as red as the other two kids.

We would like to thank all those who support us financially and with prayer. Without this we would not be able to fulfil our desire and burden to be here and help the church in PNG. We appreciate your help and pray the Lord continues to bless you all.
