Summer Newsletter

by Bro Peter Gration, AIMers to PNG

The Peter Gration family returned to PNG from Deputation during our renovation at the end of June 2005. They are the resident missionaries to New Guinea, and certainly have arrived to a busy time! They write...

Our dear friends and Partners in Missions,

Greetings once again from the wonderful land of PAPUA NEW GUINEA. It was lovely to meet so many of you for the very first time on our recent deputation and have so many people we now call “friends”.

We arrived back in Papua New Guinea on the 27th June and one week later traveled to the Southern Highlands for the National Youth Conference. This was preached by Rev. Nigel Ali of Fiji. It rained nearly every service, but this did not stop the people from standing in the rain and kneeling in the mud as they hungrily sought God. Many were filled with the Holy Spirit and 29 were baptized in Jesus’ Name. There were also at least 100 that testified to miraculous healings.

After returning from the Youth Conference, we busily got started on preparing for our first Bible School building to go on the new property. This is something that the devil has fought every step of the way, but we are excited to be able to report that God is showing Himself strong. Some plans that were vital and urgently needed had come up missing and we were finding it impossible to replace them. It almost looked like this was going to cause a major delay and expense. Naturally we prayed and put it all in the Lord’s Hands. I rang our Field Superintendent, Richard Carver and told him of the situation, after having exhaustively searched for the plans. We had cleaned and sorted through all the cupboards on our return and knew that the plans were nowhere to be found. After talking to Brother Carver I walked into Nathaniel’s bedroom. There on the right hand side of the door, in plan view, on a cupboard shelf, were the plans. I have no hesitation in giving God the glory and am convinced that an Angel put those plans there. When I saw them I had an overwhelming feeling that God was fighting for us.

THANK YOU so much for your prayers and support for this wonderful part of the harvest,

Until next time,
Peter, Robyn, Nathaniel and Kerri-Sue Gration
