Youth Conference 2007

Uploaded 31 January 2008

13-16 December 2007
Laiwaden Oval, Madang

Praise God! We held our National Youth Conference during December 13-16, 2007, on the coast at Madang. It truly was a wonderful time, and a great blessing to hold the Youth Conference in this area. Madang is a region to which the Truth has not had much exposure, and we only have a new church in this town and region.

During the Conference, we displayed the Church Logo and did outreach with tracts and visitation. Because it was the first time for the United Pentecostal Assemblies to go into this region, many people queried us: Who are you? Where is your church located? We directed them to the Scout Hall and showed them Pastor Tufe Womu. The people were very interested, and asked if we would be coming back again to this area. We replied Yes, we would in God’s time. We feel like this would be a very fruitful endeavour for the church.

Being Baptised
Having sins washed away in the crystal-clear seawater at Madang

Even though it was our first time to go into this region, God poured out a great blessing throughout the Conference. We had 165 new souls in attendance, with 343 youth members, bringing the total attendance to 508. Many of our members stayed with family and friends, and brought them along to the Conference. 14 people were baptized in Jesus’ name, and 15 were filled with the Holy Spirit, and another 9 were refilled. We give God thanks!

There was great excitement afterward amongst the small church in Madang for this foothold in the community. Some people from surrounding Islands have also requested visits from Pastor Tufe, and we are expecting wonderful things to happen in this area. Please pray for the church in Madang.

The Youth Members returned to their homes and districts, most coming 4-6 hours away from the Highlands or from Lae, very excited and thrilled to be part of the outreach effort in Madang. We believe great things are in store for the Youth of PNG!
