2008 Sunday School Conference
Uploaded 2 December 2008
September, 2008
The National Sunday School conference held in Mt. Hagen in September 2008.
The conference started on Friday night. Children from all over Papua New Guinea gathered together to enjoy the exciting time of fellowship, teaching and fun. Every one got to the conference place before Friday evening and the hall was packed to capacity. At least 500 packed the hall. Children came in from different provinces, many of them travelling a long way over rough roads to arrive.
We were blessed to be given the use of the Police Hall without any cost, free usage of the hall, free power, free electricity. During the Conference weekend the children put on many dramas and special singing items. It is always a joy to watch them; in life they have so little, but they can make use of meager resources to invent some great skits and dramas. Also, because they have so little possessions and material wealth, their hearts are uncluttered and ready to receive from the Lord.

One of the highlights of the Sunday School Conference is always the Bible Quizzing. Different teams from across the country participated and everyone enjoyed watching the quizzing teams.
The children really did have a wonderful time with the Lord. Our local ministers and teachers did all the teaching at the Conference. Afterward, the children poured out their little hearts to their Lord and you could see tears rolling down their beautiful faces.
A total number of 41 children received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and 9 were to be baptised.

(National Sunday School President)
