A Life In Missions—Highlights of a Missionary Career is the continuation of a story… a story which begun in 1973 when the Carvers first left their native Australia to begin an unforgettable experience of life on the mission field. It will take you to the forefront of missions, where you can relive the exciting experiences that make life on the mission field so rewarding.

The first part of that story is detailed in this film’s prequel, Whom Shall I Send? which covered the history of the Carvers from their departure from Australia in 1973 up to their end of term in Fiji in 2001. A Life In Missions is a continuation of the story, with a special emphasis on the period 2001– 2006, and covers their current missionary efforts in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Including some never-seen-before highlights from the early years as an introduction, the film then goes on to show the work in Lismore and Cairns, Australia, and their re-involvement in the church in Papua New Guinea.

Special coverage is given to the Carvers’ welcome home to Papua New Guinea in 2002, after an absence of 15 years, and the stirring reception given to them by the church there, as well as the chiefly initiation given to Bro Carver when he became the General Superintendent.

It shows not just glorious victories, but also the hard work behind the scenes, and some of the tougher times of missionary life; such as floods, coups, renovations and plain hard work, along with the ever-expanding needs of a plenteous harvest field with not enough labourers.

Seen this film? Make sure you've seen is Prequel, Whom Shall I Send?
